I volunteer with Medical Teams International as a massage therapist and am traveling in February to Tashkent, Uzbekistan. I have taught pediatric and infant massage therapy to medical staff in orphanages and medical clinics throughout Central Asia. Currently, I also volunteer at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, OHSU providing massage to families of medically complex pediatric patients, most of whom are enduring a broken, confusing and painful relationship with touch. I am an active member of Oncology Youth Connection, where I provide massage and cancer support for young adults. Additionally, I teach infant massage classes to parents or guardians, promoting bonding, healthy growth and motor skills, and stimulating cognitive development.
